The Battle of Lovejoy Station was portrayed on Saturday as the The Battle for Atlanta organization held their annual event at Nash Farms Battlefield Park. The Nash Farms Battlefield was purchased a couple years ago. Saved just in time from the encroaching urban sprawl of Atlanta, this important piece of history was the site of several encampments and also the location of the largest cavalry charge in Georgia during the Civil War. It was a delight to view hundreds of reenactors on this historic piece of land, recreating a small piece of our history. |
