Welcome to the 2006 Reenactment Photo Gallery.
In 2006 CivilWarP.com photographer Wes Mayhle continued to build this unique collection of reenactment photos. Mostly covering the American Civil War events but with a few reenactments from other era's as well. Each event listed below will open a mini-website devoted to that event where you'll find pages of thumbnails that link to large photos. Some events also have an interesting story or report written by wes mayhle, and sometimes mpgs, captions and links to additional resources. To return to the newer events click on the Reenactments link in the navigation menu to the left.

I want to thank all the reenactors who appear here and all the ones I've yet to photo. You provide photographers great subjects and also keep alive the lessons and beauty of a time gone by. I enjoy traveling to the events. I like to catch "morning colors" and photograph the camp sites all day. I try to keep my ears open and learn when special events are planned. I always seem to learn something helpful just by listening. Continuously walking around, I look for the opportunities where the reenactors are doing their normal routines, unposed and unseen. I look for the colors of the period and the realism. I also look for the women and their beautiful dresses. I try to avoid photographing modern things but do not get judgmental about "period" correctness (also known as "farberisms").
